From Mr J. Martinelli
It is much more probable that Dr Gonzi would reply to Mr Saliba’s questions regarding Mr Dalli’s appointment (TMIS, 2 December), given the opportunity, than that Dr Sant would appear in a national television debate, lest a thorny question be put to him.
The problem with Dr Sant and the MLP is that their vocabulary does not include the word “prudence”.
Dr Gonzi prudently waited for the Auditor General’s report, the third piece of the puzzle, to be completed before he took any decision with regard to Mr Dalli. The AG’s report took much longer than expected and, once finished, could not be signed by the AG due to the expiration of his term. The Prime Minister wrote to Dr Sant last June asking for names of possible replacements for the post of AG. That is almost six months ago! What is taking Dr Sant so long? Can we expect the same feet dragging when it comes to fulfilling his fairytale proposals, should be become the next prime
minister?
Unlike Dr Sant, who fashions policies on the run, the Prime Minister is cautious in his decision-making process.
