First Division side Marsa are facing serious financial difficulties and the committee has made it known that unless the club pays the sum of Lm5,900 which it owes to some players, then it risks being penalised three points in this year’s competition.

The case arose after Marsa failed to pay amounts as ordered by the Players and Coaches Complaints Board of the MFA. The case went to the MFA’s Control and Disciplinary Board which decided that should Marsa not pay the amount by the end of January, then the club will lose three points automatically.

The club is urging its supporters and Members of Parliament representing the locality to rally in support so that this problem is solved before the 31 January deadline.

The club’s committee is also planning to hold a rally to inform its members of what it is doing. It also thanked the players forming part of this season’s squad for their contribution.
