A 22-year-old man yesterday was granted bail on condition that he starts a drug rehabilitation programme after pleading guilty to attempting to break into a car.

Kurt Grima, from Paola, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Antonio Mizzi also to causing damages to the car at Mimosa Street, Hamrun on Monday and to committing a crime during a probation period.

Magistrate Mizzi postponed the judgement and granted the man bail against a personal guarantee of Lm1,000 on condition that he undertakes a drug rehabilitation programme.

Inspector Mario Tonna prosecuted while Dr Joe Giglio was defence counsel.
