San Lawrenz in Gozo, with a population of a little over 500, is putting up a Christmas pageant in which some 200 of its townspeople will be taking part.
The village will be transforming itself to represent Bethlehem in a custom that started over 30 years ago, in which the pageant enacts the story of the birth of Jesus. The story starts with Adam and Eve.
The representation will be played out in the village’s main square on Christmas Eve from 8pm.
