The Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association expressed grave concern at the threat by Air Malta pilots of taking strike action, as negotiations over their new collective agreement remained deadlocked.

It called on both sides to resolve the issue and come to an amicable agreement, considering that a strike during the approaching festive season could have a negative effect on the tourism sector and undermine all the marketing efforts made to attract tourists during the lean months of the year.
