The McLaren F1 Club (Malta) has just published its annual Formula One magazine Pitpass. The 32-page colour publication, which covers a variety of topics of interest to fast lane enthusiasts, was launched during a Christmas get-together organised for its members, supporters and friends.
In this issue Formula One fans can take a closer look at all the seventeen Grand Prixs of the 2007 FIA World Championship in a review replete with pictures and written by the editor and club chairperson Penelope Ciangura. In her editorial she speaks about what happened in the international arena at team level as well as at club level locally.
Three renowned correspondents in motor sports regale readers with very interesting articles related to this popular sport. FIA accredited journalist Pierre Vella writes about the large number of persons involved in an F1 team, from the factory people to the guys at the track in an article titled ‘Brave Guys of an F1 Team’.
In a very interesting article titled ‘An Eventful Year for McLaren’, Christopher Scicluna analyses the past season with regard to McLaren’s participation, and talks about the prospects for 2008.
Legendary driver James Hunt features in Godwin Cini’s regular contribution to this annual magazine. For those who are admirers of Lewis Hamilton, club official Ian Ciangura writes about the rookie’s road to success, while Karen Pace talks about her unforgettable experience during the club’s third successful tour to Silverstone.
In addition to the regular information one finds in an F1 magazine, such as driver profile, the 2008 FIA race calendar and technical specifications on the MP4-22 McLaren car, Pitpass includes reports of some of the club’s activities and highlights during 2007, with particular emphasis on the MP4-22 replica show car which was on show during a special barbeque organized for club members and friends, and the end-of-season karting event.
