The Union Haddiema Maghqudin yesterday launched the last phase of the implementation of its website, www.uhm.org.mt through which it hopes to improve its contacts with the public and its membership.
Union president Gaetano Tanti told a news conference that all the union's members would, with immediate effect, have a personalised service through the website. All those registering on the website would be able to pay their fee online and have access to information related to their place of work.
The website was getting over 220,000 hits each month and over 4,000 persons had registered to receive online information from the union.
The union yesterday launched what it is calling a cash bonanza, in its bid to attract more persons and workers to use the website. Anyone surfing the website could win cash prizes – 100 prizes are available to be won, the highest standing at e100.
Secretary general Gejtu Vella said that through its heavy investment in the website the UHM hoped to improve its communications with the public and the membership.
