Caroline Gudenus, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria, has presented her letters of credence to President Eddie Fenech Adami in the Ambassadors’ Room at the Palace in Valletta.
Dr Gudenus was born in July 1954 and studied law at the University of Vienna from where she graduated in 1985.
Her diplomatic career started in September 1986 when she joined the Austrian diplomatic service and that year she started working with the Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs. A year later she was posted to Islamabad, Pakistan for a year.
During 1988-89 she worked again with the Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs and was then posted to the Austrian Embassy in London for three years. Between 1992-96 she worked within the Austrian Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa.
Since November 2003 she has been working at the Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
