Two men are being held by the police for investigation after they were found to be without the documents and permits needed to stay in Malta.

The two were arrested on Tuesday night after the police received information that there were some suspicious persons in San Gwann Road, Sliema. At the place indicated, the police found two people one of whom, a 31 year old Iraqi, attacked a constable and escaped.

The other man, a 24 year old born in Libya, was arrested when it resulted that he did not have any documents or permits to stay in Malta. The man who had escaped earlier was found after a search of a residence in Sliema, and he also had no documents.
