Nigel Anastasi is 20 years old and has been carving since he was 12 years.

Both his mother Nathalie and his father Mark are well-known artists and he takes after them.

Nigel has always loved drawing and painting but since he was introduced to stone as a medium it simply took over. He finds that the satisfaction of finishing a 3D piece is unbeatable. He also feels a stone’s dimensions leave him with an infinite playing field and a larger threshold in which he can create and express.

He is currently exhibiting at the Manoel Theatre Courtyard along with many other artists in Moment in Time, the art exhibition organised by Flimkien ghal Ambjent Ahjar (FAA) in favour of architectural

heritage.

It runs until the end of this month. Opening hours 10am to 8pm except for Mondays when the exhibition closes at 5pm.

Was just 20 on 7 November, my start sign is Scorpio.

What would you like to be doing in 10 years’ time?

By 30, I’d love to be a famous artist and designer.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Being able to sleep well.

What is your favourite occupation?

Haven’t had many so I can’t say, but I’m sure being a graphic designer would be nice.

My uncle George.

What is your greatest fear?

Being stuck head first in a declined narrow drainpipe as it fills up with water.

What is it that you most value in your friends?

Their honesty.

How would you like to die?

I wouldn’t.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Shopping.

What is your greatest regret?

Buying a car not a bike.

What is your most treasured possession?

My sketchbook.

Which talent would you most like to have apart from the ones you already have?

Being able to sing.

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?

Having no arms and no legs while being deaf, blind and mute or being broke.

Where would you like to live?

In Swieqi, save on petrol.

What is your most marked characteristic?

My grin.

Who are your heroes/heroines in real life?

Mother and father.

What is it that you most dislike?

Having to walk down a rocky slipway barefoot, not knowing which hole my foot might end up in.
