The Sliema Band will present a musical programme on Tuesday, 1 January from 10pm at Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, in the grand finale of the fund-raising marathon. The musical programme under the direction of Mro Ronnie Debattista will perform lively works including Spanish gypsy dance by Pascar Marquina; O surdato nnamurato by Ennio Cannio; Il tango delle capinere and Mamma by Cesare Andrea Bixio; Italian symphony by Willy Hautvast; Sliemalta by Ronnie Pisani and Giuseppe Verdi's famous Brindisi from La traviata. The three television stations will join together to broadcast this grand finale. The climax of this fund-raising activity will be reached at midnight with the announcement of the total amount donated in this year's marathon.

The Societa' Filarmonica Sliema invites its numerous supporters and admirers to give a donation in this special marathon.

Preparations are also in full swing for the Sliema youth big band musical and vocal concert of lively, jazz and swing music conducted by Mro Sigmund Mifsud scheduled for Saturday, 19 January 2008 at 8pm at the new state-of-the-art auditorium of the Sacred Heart Convent, St Julian’s.
