Archbishop, Mgr Paul Cremona OP yesterday celebrated Mass for the inmates at Corradino Correctional Facility, where in a homily he laid stress on the dignity of the person, saying that this should be respected.
Maybe, he argued, some of the inmates were at Corradino because they had not always realised that others, too, have dignity, and that this should be respected.
It was the Archbishop’s second visit to the prison this year. His first was on 30 January.
Concelebrating with the Archbishop were Fr Joe Alessandro, OFM Cap, Capuchin Provincial, Fr Franco Farrugia, OFM Cap, prison chaplain, Fr Christopher Galea, parish priest at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Paola, and Fr Mark Montebello, OP.
There are 400 inmates at Corradino, including 100 foreigners, and 30 women.
