Libyan Placed under house arrest after injuring another man

A 39-year-old Libyan was yesterday placed under house arrest after pleading not guilty to attempting to grievously injure and slightly injuring another man.

Housin Aljasem,39, residing in Sliema was charged with injuring Khaled Mohammed Ibrahim Ben Nasan on Sunday at 8.45pm in St Julian’s.

Before Magistrate Antonio Mizzi, he pleaded not guilty also to breaching the peace and carrying a knife without a police licence.

Magistrate Mizzi placed the Libyan under house arrest against a personal guarantee of e4658.75 (Lm2,000).

Police Inspector Martin Sammut prosecuted while lawyers Daniela Mangion and Gabrielle Buttigieg appeared for the accused.
