The Association of Surgeons is organising a European Trauma Course in March – the first European trauma course was organised in Malta in 2006 and since then it has been held in various other countries.
The ETC is a 2½ day trauma simulator-based course for doctors and is endorsed by the European Resuscitation Council. It is suitable for surgeons, anaesthetists and emergency physicians who are expected to actively lead or participate in a trauma team. Its philosophy is the ‘team approach’ which aims for the expedient and simultaneous treatment of the critically injured patient by various specialists. Certificates will be endorsed by the European Resuscitation Council.
Places will be strictly limited and will be offered on a ‘first come, first served’ basis on presentation of the application and payment, before Friday, 25 January at noon.
