Soprano Ruth Casingena recently staged a spectacular live show, Journey, in the Grandmasters Suite at the Hilton Malta in aid of the Eden Foundation and under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Mrs Gonzi.

She entertained the audience to a breathtaking journey through the classical, musical, popular and ethnic genres, harmonizing voice, dance, instrumental performance and choir directing into one formidable evening.

Journey has involved the participation of over 200 people, performers and crew, an 85-strong choir whose role was very demanding, the junior choir of over 60 children, whose presence and voices spiced up the night, the 30 dancers from the Brigitte Gauci Borda Dance Company, giving spectacular interpretations of the colourful choreographies, the young budding solo singers and musicians.

This spectacle at the Hilton is the birth of Journey Movement, which Casingena is setting up with the aim of focusing on the individual self, cultivating a new awareness and instilling in the public a new direction toward the appreciation of art and human values.

Journey has been launched in December as the first in a series of shows, concerts as well as various events, mainly for charity, which are set to inspire artistic awareness to the public as well as give artists recognition for their talents and the opportunity to create and fuse their art together.
