The Commissioner of Police and the Chief Electoral Commissioner notify that by means of Legal Notice No. 1 of 2008, identity cards issued after January 2002, which expired or which shall expire during 2008 shall remain valid until 31 December.
Therefore, unless Maltese citizens intend to use their ID Card as a travel document, or do not have any personal changes to report, ID Cards shall not be substituted.
