A large crowd is expected to watch this evening's clash at Ta' Qali national stadium between Valletta and Italian side Juventus.

This prestigious friendly match is part of the training camp organised by Juventus in Malta as their coach Claudio Ranieri tries to revitalise the side in preparation for their forthcoming commitments and in the run for the Serie A title.

Juventus at present occupy third place in the Serie A standings, but with more than half the season's matches still to be played, they still have a relatively good chance to challenge the two clubs above them, Inter and Roma, for the title.

It is a great occasion and an honour for Valletta to host such a world-famous team as is 'La Vecchia Signora' which boasts one of the largest Supporters Club on this island.

Ranieri has made it clear that all the players in the squad who are in Malta, will be playing at some time or another during this evening's match. That makes it possible for the numerous Juventus fans to watch all their favourites in action.

Even Valletta coach Paul Zammit is expected to give a chance to all his players to take part in the game although he is expected to line up his best formation in the first half.

Zammit and his players are aware of the strong opposition facing them, but they are all enthusiastic about this great opportunity to be facing such a famous side.

The fact that it is a friendly - as was the case when Birkirkara played against Milan this time last year - should make it a most interesting and entertaining evening at the national stadium.

Mater Dei Hospital

A Valletta FC contingent made up of all the players, the coach and some committee members will be visiting the children at Mater Dei Hospital this morning at 9.45.

This is a charity visit by the club on the occasion of this evening's prestigious clash against Italian giants Juventus at Ta' Qali.

Personalised stamp

The Valletta Supporters' Club, together with Maltapost and Valletta FC, are issuing a personalised stamp commemorating the encounter for the BetFair Cup that will be played this evening at the National Stadium .

This personalised stamp will be available in a Souvenir envelope and carries a special hand postmark. The price of this personalised stamp is e6.00 (Lm 2.58) and can be purchased from L-Amerikan in Republic Street Valletta, from Valletta Maltapost branch, Victoria Gozo Maltapost branch and from Ta' Qali National Stadium during the match.

Meanwhile police authorities issued traffic instructions for spectators going to The National Stadium today. All private vehicles are instructed to head for Ta?Qali from Mosta, while coaches and mini-vans are instructed to use the road leading to the millennium stand.

Police also advised that all cars parked in the street surrounding the stadium will be towed away after 3pm.
