Education, Youth and Employment Minister Louis Galea, the director general in the education quality and standards directorate, Grace Grima, and officials have taken part in the World Ministerial Seminar on Technology in Education – Focus on the Digital Divide within Countries and between Countries, held in London over three days.

It was attended by education ministers and authorities from 65 countries to consider the challenges the world was facing in education because of rapid developments in information technology and communication.

The technology is seen as changing the world of work and man’s means of livelihood, threatening a new division in humanity.

Dr Galea addressed the seminar to explain government policies in education, pointing out that an e-Learning strategy was being implemented from this year which should reach all schools at all education levels in a matter of a few years.
