Malta Independent Friday, 11 January 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

A new hall is being built at Marsaxlokk primary school, which operates within the St Thomas More College, and which will serve the needs of both the school and the community, Education Minister Louis Galea said. The hall will take up to 350 people and will be fully equipped.

It will add to the work that has been carried out at the school over recent years, including the recent opening of a ground with artificial turf, with the assistance of the Malta Football Association. Various school halls have been modernised, including at Attard, Msida, San Gwann, Safi, Hamrun, Pembroke, Siggiewi, Tarxien, Luqa and Mgarr.

Dr Galea said the substantial changes in society and the economy needed continuous and national efforts, to ensure that education reached more people.

They needed to exploit the new technologies, and the updating of the curriculum was based on eLearning.
