Malta Independent Friday, 11 January 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Who is Andrea Britton? Anyone familiar with the world of trance music, a style of electronic music that developed in the 1990s, will be the first to acknowledge Andrea Britton as a voice to blow your senses. And she will be the next singer in the line-up of foreign guests making special appearances on Bla Agenda, tomorrow at 8.30pm on One TV.

Norman Hamilton will be welcoming the British singer-songwriter and trance vocalist, in an exclusive TV appearance in Malta. On the night she will perform one of her international successes: ‘Am I on your Mind’.

Britton’s first contact with music started at the early age of six when she started her piano lessons. Since then she has come along way and has since been generously supported by BBC Radio 1 and Kiss100, and has pulled together an impressive discography since 2000, working with DT8 Project, Jurgen Vries, and Oxygen, to name a few.

Britton’s single “Am I on Your Mind”, recorded with Oxygen, made it to No.30 on the UK Top 40 chart in late 2002. In the subsequent years, her hit list included hit singles such as “Winter” with Darren Tate, “Time Still Drifts Away” and “Inner Sense” with The Disco Brothers, “Wait for You” with Lost Witness, and “Take My Hand” with Jurgen Vries.

On her current single she has joined forces with Positiva and Sunfreakz with “Counting Down the Days” and Axwell lends his talents on the edit. As of July 2007, “Counting Down the Days” (The Axwell Vocal Mix) has been one of the most requested songs in dance clubs all over Latin America and Brazil.

She is a prolific writer in her own right and recent work includes penning the title track to the British feature film FAKERS, as well as tracks for 4 strings, The Freshmakers, Chris Lake, Dirty Vegas, Rui Da Silva, Loverush, Avalon Superstar and Headstrong, and many, many more.

Andrea is the notable female voice on a diverse number of projects, including on the debut album from Lord Large, “The Lords First Eleven” (Acid Jazz), where Andrea’s vocals feature alongside other formidable guest performances from Glenn Tilbrook, Clem Curtis and Linda Lewis. She also fronts the band in its live format, the “Lord Large Experiment”, with Ashley Slater. Recent performances include sessions on the Jonathan Ross, Mark Lamarr and Janice Long Radio 2 shows. She has also supported Dirty Vegas and Kylie on her Fever Tour.
