After just four minutes Balzan were very unlucky with Gilbert Scerri hitting the post following a personal effort. In the 19th minute Scerri had better luck when he managed to open the score from a direct free-kick.
Balzan continued to play the better football and they made it 2-0 in the 36th minute with Aaron Agius’s cross being finished off by Kurt Coleiro. Then Balzan had a Sergio Cappitta effort which was cleared off the goal line and on another occasion wasted a clear opportunity through Antoine Sacco.
In the 65th minute Kurt Coleiro increased further Balzan’s lead following a good move between Agius and Scerri and later on a shot by Sacco hit the crossbar. Just before the final whistle Kurt Coleiro provided an inch perfect pass for Antoine Sacco to beat Buttigieg from close-range.

Mtarfa F.C. vs Siggiewi F.C. 1-6
Siggiewi dominated right from the start and they took a deserved lead in the 20th minute through Mark Aquilina who headed in from a Joe Vassallo corner-kick.
On the half-hour Stephen Said scored from close-range to make it 2-0 and on the stroke of half-time Joe Vassallo’s corner-kick was finished off by Chris Bezzina for Siggiewi’s third goal.
Ten minutes after the change of ends Eman Ciappara headed in from a cross by Said to make it 4-0 with Omar Smeir pulling a goal back for Mtarfa in the 65th minute. Siggiewi continued to dominate the proceedings and further increased their tally through two further goals scored by Kim Buhagiar (67th min.) and Eman Ciappara (86th min.)

Kirkop United vs Santa Lucia F.C. 1-6
Kirkop shared the exchanges during the first period but it was the Saints who took the lead in the 30th minute through Antoine Sapiano.
The Saints were completely dominant after the break and they made it 2-0 in the 58th minute through Joel Grima with Roderick Mangion adding a third goal two minutes later following a good move by Kurt Grima.
On 71 minutes Charles Agius headed in a fourth goal with Kirkop obtaining a consolation goal three minutes later through Charles Pace. In the final eight minutes the Saints scored two further goals through Kurt Grima and Ian Cutajar for a 6-1 final scoreline.
