The Fiat 500 is not just a basic transportation method. It’s not just a car, it’s a legend, a cult, a 500!
Since 1957 in fact, the 500 helped Italy become one of the main influences in building Italy as an industrialised country. This year was a very important year all round the world, because the spaceship, Sputnik, conquered the space, Juan Manuel Fangio, won his 5th and last world F1 championship, and the European Union was born in it’s first form as the European Economic Community amongst others. The Fiat 500 managed to place its mark in history during such an important year all the same, being the symbol and marking of a new type of mobility being the new “city car”.
Being such a cult car, Fiat Malta was well aware that a great launch was to be executed.
The game between Juventus and Valletta provided the perfect setting and occasion to do so.
A string of fine examples of classic 500’s put up an impressive parade in the National grounds at Ta’ Qali just before the warm up and the game of Juventus.
Fiat also presented its whole range to the public. From the panda, to the Grande Punto, Bravo, Sedici, Croma and Doblo.
The cars were skillfully timed to perfection to make sure the presentation satisfies both Fiat’s and other authority’s expectations.
A specially prepared voiceover along side with some excellent selection of music accompanied the parade. Music included tracks from all eras from the 1950’s, till very recent music.
The whole event was presented by Juventus’ own Dj, Marco Nana (known as DJ Nana), who was also the person presenting the 500 in Italy during the 500’s launch!
Last but not least, the star of the show, Gianluigi Buffon! Fiat made sure that a special guest would be actively taking part in the presentation of what is surely the most anticipated car in our market. Gianluigi Buffon, Juventus’ goalkeeper was taken for a “ride” along the pitch while saluting the public at present, to wrap up a marvelous event for Fiat.
Fireworks were finally let off, placing the cherry on the cake for this very successful event.
