Zachary Zammit and Annelise Abela have won the BOV Prize in Drama 2007, a prize awarded to Masquerade Theatre Company students who achieve the highest grades in the Trinity Guildhall solo examination.

This was the second edition of the award, which was launched in 2006 as part of the collaboration between Bank of Valletta and the Masquerade Theatre Company. The BOV Prize in Drama is designed to encourage excellence in the artistic studies of drama students.

The winning students were presented with a certificate and a cash grant by Michael Galea, Head at the CEO’s Office at Bank of Valletta. Also present was Anthony Bezzina, Director of the Masquerade Theatre Arts School.

“This initiative of rewarding and promoting excellence among drama students underlines the importance given to the promotion of the arts and education within the BOV Community Programme,” explained Mr. Galea during the presentation of the prize. While congratulating the students on the outstanding result they achieved, Mr. Galea added that the BOV Prize in Drama seeks to encourage young people to develop their artistic talents, thus contributing to the promotion of drama within Malta’s artistic scene.
