French Ambassador, Jean-Marc Rives and the Attache Culturel Anne-Marie Debausscher visited De La Salle college and participated in a number of activities prepared by the French Department. The college has a significant cultural link with France as founder Saint John Baptist De La Salle was French. Brother David, Bro Louis and Bro Emmanuel greeted the French delegation in the presence of acting headmaster Norbert Zahra.

Lara May Debono, teacher of From II, in joint venture with St. Catherine’s High School, prepared a quiz and coached her students in delivering power-point presentations about several topics such as la Francophonie and La Gastronomie française. The delegation proceeded to St Joseph’s hall where they saw the exhibition entitled la Ville.

The third activity took place in the kitchen where Tyrone Grima, teacher of form III prepared crepes with his class. Furthermore, Form IV students had a session of learning French through ICT.

The activities were organised and planned by Doreen Farrugia, coordinator for Modern Languages in the Church schools. She accompanied the delegation as they were taken around the college.
