Edwin Vassallo said yesterday that the changeover to the European single currency had been efficient, thanks to retailers in the small business sector.

The parliamentary secretary for small businesses and the self employed said they were now watching the market and listening to people’s comments.

Calling at small businesses in Rabat, Mr Vassallo spoke to the owners and to consumers. Comments made both by the owners and by consumers were that they had already become accustomed to the euro, he said.
