Malta Independent Wednesday, 16 January 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

The Malta Union of Teachers and the government yesterday agreed to continue talks, after a meeting held yesterday to solve the impasse over problems regarding employees at the Institute of Tourism Studies was termed “inconclusive”.

The MUT had called for a meeting with the Prime Minister, also threatening to call a national rally unless the matter was seen to.

An MUT delegation, led by president John Bencini yesterday met Dr Lawrence Gonzi and Education Minister Louis Galea. After the meeting, it was decided that negotiations should continue with the Education Ministry.
