Nearly seven kilograms of cannabis resin have been found hidden in manure in a field by anti drugs police who had a man under watch, the police said yesterday.
The man, aged 35, is from Zejtun and lives in Marsascala. He is being held under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days.
The find was made on Wednesday night after days of surveillance. The police said the field is in the vicinity of St Thomas Bay, Marsascala and the police swooped in on the man as he was preparing the drug in his hideout.
Duty magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna is conducting an inquiry.
