The authorised bottlers of Coca-Cola products, General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd, are expected to have a fully functional purpose-built plant in Marsa before summer, possibly by May, although it will probably start operating a month before that, Maria Micallef, the company’s general manager told The Malta Independent.
The company, apart from the glass-bottling machinery, is being relocated to Marsa, where a new plant has been built to handle bottling of soft drinks in cans and plastic bottles.
Addressing a media conference to give details of the company’s campaign to mark the launch of the fast-selling Coca-Cola products bottled in polyethylene terephthalate (PET), Ms Micallef said the company is offering its customers the opportunity to win up to e50,000 (Lm21,465) worth of luxury furniture from IdeaCasa.
The Dream Home campaign comes in the wake of the introduction of the new PET format for Coca-Cola products following the liberalisation of the soft drinks market and new legalisation on PET packaging.
Ms Micallef said: “We were looking for a prize that would appeal to the entire family; and teaming up with an establishment such as IdeaCasa has given us the possibility to offer a wide choice of quality prizes to our consumers, thus appealing to a vast range of tastes and lifestyles.”
Winners would be able to choose from the variety of products on display at IdeaCasa’s showroom in Valley Road. Products include kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms, flooring and lighting, among others.
Anthony Sammut, IdeaCasa managing director said: “IdeaCasa is proud to have been given the occasion to make itself known further with the Maltese public.
“The public is showing a very positive response to our recently opened showroom in Valley Road and our participation in this promotion can also be considered as a sign of appreciation. We look forward to present the vouchers together with our friends at General Soft Drinks – good luck to all participants.”
To participate consumers simply need to peel the label off 1.5 litre PET bottles of Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Sprite or Diet Sprite, fill in their details on the back of the label and send it to Dream Home 2008, The General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd, Mdina Road, Qormi QRM 9010.
Five random draws will be held between 1 February and 28 March. Finalists will be asked a simple question about IdeaCasa and should they answer it correctly, they will qualify as winners.
Two winners will be announced in each draw. The grand prize winners of each draw will be awarded a prize consisting of e7,000 (Lm3,005.10) worth of household goods from IdeaCasa, while consolation prize winners of each draw will win e3,000 (Lm1,287.90) worth of household goods from the same outlet.
