On Saturday Krishna Pen & Paper played Melita C.C in the Globalair winter league. Krishna winning the toss elected to bat.

The Krishna batsmen were all in form with three batsmen retiring after thirty balls.

Nowell Khosla and Mark G.Sacco opened the batting and set up the innings for the Krishna side. Khosla scored an impressive forty four runs from his allotted balls faced including five fours.

Sacco also retired scoring thirty five runs and also dispatched a couple of balls to the square leg boundary.

The opening pair of Sacco and Khosla have been giving headaches to all the teams throughout this league.

Chris Naudi who impressed last week kept on where he left off top scoring with forty seven runs from his allotted balls faced.

He now has the highest individual score for league.

Sam Dhandapani was the only wicket to fall. He was bowled by Tony Slater for a score of thirty four runs. Kevin Krishna and Faraaz were the not out batsmen when the allotted overs were finished. Both batsmen had not made any runs.

The juniors who were playing with Krishna, Sanjay Dhandapani, Adam Krishna and Liam Azzopardi did not bat.

Jason Muscat was another batsman who did not need to show his bat. Krishna totaled a huge score of 182 runs.

Tony Slater was the only wicket taker for Melita.

The Melita batsmen had a good start with Joy Ghoseroy top scoring with thirty seven runs for his side while newcomer Justin scored thirty four runs.

Tim Wheeler scored thirteen runs and Sagar Krishna scored ten runs. The Melita side scored a respectable 149 runs but were bowled out. Faraaz was the main wicket taker with three wickets. Khosla showing his diversity tool one wicket and also took two catches and a stumping while he was keeping.

Krishna earned ten points for the win and now head the ladder with twenty points. Melita earned one point from the game.

Tomorrow Marsa C.C play Melita C.C at 1pm at the Marsa sports club cricket ground.

In the morning the nursery/academy will be from 9.30 till 11.30am.
