A man from Zabbar was yesterday charged with attempting to seriously injure his wife and his in-laws after he drove his van in their direction.
Brian Pulis, 31, pleaded not guilty, before presiding magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera, to attempting to seriously injure his wife and her parents when he drove his van in their direction and attacked them with a metal rod early on Thursday morning in Zabbar.
He was also accused of punching his wife and in-laws, slightly injuring them and threatening to kill them.
Mr Pulis also pleaded not guilty to driving negligently and recklessly, breaching the peace, using vulgar language in public and threatening his wife with violence.
Magistrate Scerri Herrera granted Mr Pulis bail against a personal guarantee of e6,987 and ordered him to reside at his mother’s house.
Police Inspector Anthony Cassar prosecuted while Dr Anglu Farrugia appeared for Mr Pulis.
