A Chinese cultural festival will be held in Valletta in late January to promote traditional Chinese culture and celebrate the upcoming Chinese Spring Festival celebrating Chinese New Year

The 2008 Chinese Spring Festival in Valletta, jointly organised by the China Cultural Centre in Malta and the Valletta local council, is the second of its kind following similar activities held successfully in 2007.

Zheng Hao, director of the China Cultural Centre in Malta, told Xinhua that the festival aims to present the very charming and colourful Chinese cultural event for Maltese people to enjoy a happy and peaceful Chinese festival.

Chinese cultural presentations, including acrobatics, traditional Chinese opera and music, will be performed at Malta’s National Theatre on 29-30 January.
