I was shocked when I heard Jason Micallef stating on Bondiplus that one of your best columnists had had some cosmetic surgery.

In my opinion, the MLP Secretary-General was hitting the journalist below the belt. With his intentional emphatic statement, for which he took full responsibility on the programme, he was giving us a taste of his version of MLP tolerance.

The journalist basically was criticising the inadequate handling of the media by the MLP top brass regarding Dr Sant’s health.

Instead of maybe admitting or partially agreeing with what Lou Bondi was quoting from the journalist’s article, Mr Micallef chose to attack the singer and not the song. From what people like me observe, this only happens when a person like Mr Micallef feels threatened and his only way out is a personal attack on the writer.

In my opinion, Mr Micallef tried to be smart with us viewers when he stated inter alia that when, at the press conference, “no lies were told” it meant that “the truth was told”.

He would have been more correct in his wording if he had said that “SOME of the truth was told”, especially when no questions were allowed at the press conference.

I shudder at the thought of the media being silenced with such unethical tactics by people who are promising us another “new beginning”.
