Two Found without documents

Malta Independent Monday, 21 January 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

Two foreigners not in possession of valid visa documents were yesterday arrested in part of the police’s drive to weed out foreigners staying in Malta illegally.

In the first case, the St Julian’s District Police were informed that there was a Moroccan national who was staying at a Spinola Bay Hotel without the necessary permits. The police spoke to the person, a 58-year-old woman, and established that she did not have the necessary documentation.

Meanwhile, in a separate case, Zabbar District Police were carrying out an inspection of various establishments in the area where they noticed a suspicious looking man. It turned out that it was a Libyan national, 27, who also did not have the necessary documents needed to stay in Malta. Both people are helping the police with their investigations.
