Malta will be playing a friendly international against Liechtenstein on 26 March, at the Ta' Qali national stadium.

The match was listed officially on the fixtures list of football's world body website FIFA.com. According to a report on local website maltafootball.com, it was the Liechtenstein Football Association who announced the match.

The match will form part of the preparation for Malta's forthcoming commitments in the 2010 World Cup qualifying Group 1 where it has been drawn to play alongside Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Hungary and Albania.

However, it will come after the national team's participation next month in the Malta International Tournament where Fitzel's squad will be in action against Armenia, Iceland and Belarus in the four-team event.

It will be only the second time that Malta will be meeting Liechtenstein. Earlier, way back in 1981, the two countries had figured in a 1-1 draw in a President's Cup match in South Korea.
