League leaders Valletta are the only team to be sure of playing in the Top Six when the Championship Pool arrives next month.
Their 4-1 win over Hamrun Spartans on Saturday moved them on to the 31-point mark, that is 10 points ahead of seventh placed Hibernians. With just three matches to go, the Paolites cannot reach Valletta.
The citizens’ main interest now is to continue piling up the points as they try to start the next phase on top and with a good lead, given that the points accumulated during this first phase will be halved before the start of the second phase.
The following is the programme of matches remaining for each of the seven clubs at the top as they continue battling either for a Top Six place or to avoid the fourth berth in the Relegation Pool.
