We refer to the item in your Odds & Ends Column (TMID, 21 January), which states that a roundabout in the Mtarfa Arterial Road 'has been left abandoned'.

We would like to inform your correspondent and your readers that this roundabout and adjacent verges on the Mtarfa bypass are due to be embellished by ELC in the coming weeks.

Designs proposed by ELC have recently been approved by the responsible authorities and the initial excavations for the rubble wall features have been started already, with the wall construction works to be continued and shortly followed by the soil preparation, planting of trees and shrubs and installation of an irrigation system.

It is anticipated at this time that the works will be completed by the end of February or early March.
