A Gala Dinner and presentation ceremony held recently, brought to a close a very eventful year for the Table Tennis Academy which is stationed at the Civil Service Sports Club in Valletta. The event was very well attended and well organised, as in previous years.
Powerade represented by General Soft Drinks presented the cheque through Mr Edward Borg to the Academy Director Mario Genovese.
Throughout the evening, the academy’s coaches, Mario Genovese, Edward Baldacchino, Alex
Anastasi and Alex Soler, together with various members of the board, presented numerous awards and certificates to the many promising players in the academy for their participation in various ranking tournaments, the successful summer training camp, first ever Doubles ranking tournament, as well as awards for outstanding achievements throughout 2008.

Best improved 1-star: Dylan Zammit
Best improved newcomer; Jake Vella.
The season has just kicked off in preparation for the coming events including Davis Cup Academy League, Doubles Ranking, Individual TTA Ranking tournament and Junior National Championships.
