The Nationalist Party said the Prime Minister has accused the Labour Party of ridiculing Malta at the conference of European Socialist Parties and it had to be the president of the European Socialists, Martin Schultz, who defended Malta.

Labour acting leader Charles Mangion had criticised the changeover to the euro but Mr Schultz said Malta had taken the correct decision, the PN said. Lawrence Gonzi said Mr Schultz defended Malta but the Labour Party continued with its negative criticism of the changeover.
