South African teenager, Michael Misselhorn from Wellington International School in Dubai, could be set to follow in the footsteps of Kaka and Ronaldo after winning the opportunity to train as a Milan player thanks to Emirates.

The Milan team was in Dubai for a week of winter training and in the build-up to their arrival, Dubai Eye 103.8FM and Al Bayan in association with Emirates, held a competition for 40 young football fans to have the chance to train for two days with a Milan coach.

At the end of the two days of training, the Milan coaching staff chose one lucky UAE-based youngster to have the opportunity of a lifetime and travel to Italy and train in Milan.

After being chosen, Michael said, “I have really enjoyed the two days of training with the Milan coach and to be selected to win the trip to Milan is incredible, Milan is definitely one of the top teams in the world.”

Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates’ Executive Vice President, Commercial Operations Worldwide, said: “On behalf of Emirates, I would like to congratulate Michael on winning the chance to train with Milan in Italy. It is very exciting that through our partnership with Milan we are able to encourage young football fans and give them the opportunity to learn from players of the calibre of the AC Milan team.”

During his time in Milan, Michael will be training with the Milan youth team and will get to witness the players in the first team in action both in training and in a match at the San Siro Stadium.

Emirates operates five flights weekly from Malta to Dubai via Larnaca, Cyprus, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, on the new Boeing 777-200.
