The University of Malta Academic Staff Association (UMASA) expressed its support for the position taken by the Malta Union of Teachers over the Institute of Tourism Studies.

Although the Director of Labour had agreed to an agreement with ITS Management and with MUT over a reduction of contract hours for the teachers, this agreement was not endorsed by the Education Ministry.

In a statement, UMASA said it hoped that the cordial meetings MUT is having with the Ministry will conclude this issue positively as soon as possible.
