The schoolbag manufacturer McNeill, which opened shop in Malta 19 years ago, will be ceasing operations at the end of April, the General Workers Union said yesterday.
The company, which employs 85 people, is a German operation. The GWU described it as a company “with a social heart”, employing some 15 people with special needs, from Dar il-Wens.
The union did not say why the company was closing down.
