In his letter (TMID, 24 January), Carmel Camilleri uses the usual scare-mongering tactics to put voters off from voting for Alternattiva Demokratika in parliament on the usual repetitive grounds that a small party brings instability.
Mr Camilleri does not seem to realise that Alternattiva Demokratika has been active politically for nearly 19 years and it has always, consistently and coherently, shown that it has the interests of the whole country at heart. For us at AD, the interests of our nation come before those of our party.
In his scare-mongering attempt, Mr Camilleri gave some examples of unstable coalition governments, among which Italy and Germany. May I remind Mr Camilleri that the instability in Italy has been caused by the close ally of the PN in the PPE, Clemente Mastella, while the coalition party in Germany that Mr Camilleri is accusing is the German Socialist Party.
The greens have always been loyal partners, whether in coalition with Schroeder in Germany or with Prodi in Italy.
As we have proven during the course of our political activity during the years, we Maltese greens are responsible politicians and all Maltese and Gozitans have the opportunity to vote for our candidates to bring about a real change in the Maltese way of doing politics.
