Congratulations for your editorial A lesson for Malta? (TMID, 28 January), wherein you summarised the precarious political situation of our neighbouring country Italy, caused by the political system that gives too much weight and influence to tiny coalition partners.

As in his reply to my letter (TMID, 24 January) Arnold Cassola (TMID, 26 January) sidetracked from this issue, I advise him to read your editorial carefully.
