Last Sunday was the shoot off day for the Malta Airgun Shooting club events, the first event for 2008 was the national field target held at the Victoria shooting range in Handaq.
This event consisted of 30 shots by each competitor on drop down targets with distances varying between 15 to 50 metres.
Fifteen competitors took part with quite a high level of marksmanship and points for this event will be added to three other events throughout the year with the final event being held in December of this year.
The best shooters for the first event were Rene Scorfna, third, Alfred Cini second and Gordon Gouder (photo) in first place.
The Malta Airgun Shooting club’s next event is Air pistol steel plate shooting on 10 February at the Victoria Shooting Range in Handaq.
