Youth Remanded in custody

A 19-year-old youth from Valletta was remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to a series of thefts that allegedly took place in November 2006 and April and October last year.

Before magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera, Allan Pace was accused of stealing a car stereo from a car parked in Valletta on 30 November 2006. Furthermore, he was charged with stealing less than e2,330 (Lm1,000) in cash and other goods from Merhba Kiosk at City Gate, Valletta on 30 April as well as stealing less than e2,330 (Lm1,000) in cash and other items from the Cospicua Regatta Club on the night of 31 October.

He was also charged with relapsing, breaching the conditions of two court orders and committing a crime during the operative term of a suspended jail term.

Police Inspector Michael Mallia prosecuted while Dr Veronique Dalli assisted Mr Pace.
