The Water Services Corporation said yesterday that urgent repair works are being carried out on the sewer main in Gzira. These works were expected to be completed by yesterday.
As a result of this failure, sewage overflowed into the sea but this is being removed by WSC personnel, and the area disinfected.
In the meantime infrastructural works that are being done to replace this old main are due to be completed by the end of February.
