In a reaction to last Sunday’s report of a study carried out by Politis and published in Cyprus comparing prices in the two countries that have just joined the eurozone, Cyprus and Malta, with prices in continental Europe, the Maltese Meatsellers Association said it is not true that pork prices in Malta are as high as stated in the report.

On the contrary, the association said, pork prices in Malta are, on average, the same as prices in Nicosia, with the highest price for fillet being around e7.69 / Lm3.30 a kg and other pork cuts being sold for as low as e3.26 / Lm1.40 a kg.
