When Lost ask the way

Malta Independent Sunday, 3 February 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

From Dr F. Portelli

The Times of Malta of 30 January reported that the government has rented a portable MRI scanner from abroad – for the next 10 weeks. This when there are two excellent MRI Scanners in the private sector in Malta which could easily have provided the required MRI service to patients in government hospitals at preferred rates.

I am sure this is not what we, in the PN, understood when we declared in our Electoral Manifesto that the PN “will work at finding ways of promoting cooperation between the private health sector and that of the state, to the greater satisfaction of doctors and patients” Article 161.

Or when we declared that when in government we, the PN “will also encourage the development of private hospitals. This will ease the workload of state hospitals and reduce the pressure on their budgets” Article 165.

When lost one could always ask the way
