A Libyan man was yesterday jailed for one year after he was found guilty of breaching bail conditions when he approached a principal witness in a police station.
Rashad El-Arabi Mabruk, 35, pleaded not guilty, before presiding Magistrate Michael Mallia, to breaching bail conditions imposed against a personal guarantee of Lm1,000 and which included not approaching witnesses.
The court found Mabruk guilty of approaching the principal witness and offending him in a police station and jailed him for one week.
Police inspector Anthony Portelli prosecuted while Dr Anthony Cutajar appeared as legal aid for Mabruk.
