The GWU’s Professionals, Finance and Services Section has protested with the state-funded Public Broadcasting Services against the way the broadcaster appointed its news manager.

The section said the appointment had been given to someone not employed at PBS, ignoring company employees. Such appointments should be made in a transparent manner, especially if it was a sensitive position.

The way the news manager had been appointed had made PBS employees greatly unhappy, the section said.
